Trygve Wiese is an artist from Stavanger, Norway. He is known for the music video “Me e Viking” released back in 2005. In 2009 he released a 4-track EP titled “No Way”. Last month he released a cover of the ever famous track “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” which was originally titled “Mbube” and written by Solomon Ntsele/Linda. Trygve brings a fresh, modern twist to this much covered classic.
The start of this track kicks off with the iconic opener which, if you didn’t see the title, you could not mistake for any other song. The mix is definitely the highlight of the track, alongside Trygve’s superb vocals. An excellent job done by all who are involved. Though we were surprised to see that the track was, roughly, a minute shorter than the original version! Guess we’ll just have to put it on repeat!
We are looking forward to seeing what he does next!
