Review: “Roses” by Sophie Dorsten

Singer/Songwriter Sophie Dorsten from Phoenix, USA. In September 2018, she released her latest EP “Roses”. A three track release featuring songs such as the titular track “Roses”, “Insanity” and “Falling Far”. Today we’ll be looking at the title track “Roses” – what did we think of it? Here goes!

The song begins with an acoustic chord progression which is followed very quickly by Sophie’s vocals which are impressive across the track. The track itself moves quite quickly which is a nice touch considering a lot of songs in this style take (what seems like) forever to get going! It calms down after a while but has the drums following along, so although the song itself is calm it does indeed to continue a flow. There is no denying that Sophie’s vocals are impressive. The mix itself is very well done and an impressive result. The tone of the acoustic guitar really fits well with the song, that’s just one element of this mix. Everything in this song provides a well sourced foundation that guarantees excellent results for the listener, there’s no shadow of a doubt that any listener will be disappointed after listening to this fantastic track!

We look forward to hearing more from Sophie in the future.
