Becky Kapell is a songwriter from Minnesota, USA. She’ll be releasing an album titled “In It To Win It” soon but her single “I Don’t Know” is set for release on Friday November 6th, 2020. We took a listen and here’s what we thought…
There’s a lot of 60s stylings occurring with this track, from the twangy guitar tones to the mix of the drums. This is a throwback with modern textures. For the most part Becky’s vocals are pretty cool, there are elements where it seems a bit off but the harmonies make up for whatever faults we could possibly describe.
The whole of the song just follows the same sound, there’s a bit of a break towards the end. However for the most part “I Don’t Know” doesn’t really go anywhere it just has the same vibe throughout and sounds and feels pretty “middle-of-the-road”, you’d think that after a break like that it’d actually kick off for a big finish or something along those lines. If you didn’t know the song title before listening to it, you’d definitely know.
Soon after this track played came the song “Hungry Dog”, a far superior track – this track was released on May 1st 2018 and is available now.
