John Michael Howell is a singer/songwriter from Dallas, Texas. He began his musical adventure at the young age of 7, he sang on his first major release at just ten years old! Fast forward to September 27th 2019 and he released his latest single “US”. What did we think about it? Let’s find out!
The track starts off with a cool chord progression but wastes no time in getting straight to the point. Lyrics that sing of changing the world and worried about having big dreams. There’s some stuff about posting on social media which seems a raised an eyebrow or two it must be said. Other than that the lyrics seem pretty good! Though we’re not sure what it’s trying to say exactly, it certainly feels positive.
The track also contains a nice string section and harmonies that really help add a good atmosphere to the track. Later on in the track there’s a neat idea of having a clap on beat two of measures.
Overall it’s a good effort from John!
